Boseong Green Tea Fields — Waves of Green Terraces

Jeollanam-do's Boseong is Korea's largest green tea region. Terraced tea fields curve endlessly down the hillsides, and the green shows a different face each season.

Season by season

• 🌸 Spring — May's first-harvest season. The fields' green is the most vivid of the year. Boseong's best season.
• ☀️ Summer — deepened greenery against a blue sky. In the heat, an early-morning visit is best.
• 🍁 Autumn — the fields stay green year-round, but the surrounding mountains turn with foliage for a fine contrast.
• ❄️ Winter — snow-covered terraced fields. A rare scene of green and white stacked in layers. A light festival is held too.

Photo tips

Shoot the terraced fields on a diagonal to bring out the green texture. The cedar path is best around midday when light filters in.

• Admission: about 4,000 KRW
• Climate & clothing: The fields are on slopes and can be windy. A jacket in spring and autumn; a hat and sun protection in summer. Sloped paths — comfortable shoes recommended.
• Green tea food — green tea ice cream, green tea noodles and more on site.
• Confirm fees and hours before visiting.
